Requirements
Must:
- Extensive expertise in Linux systems administration and engineering across various distributions.
- Demonstrated experience with FleetDM or comparable MDM/endpoint management tools at scale.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise security practices, including CIS standards, encryption, identity management, PKI, and vulnerability management.
- Capability to architect and implement scalable platforms in environments heavy with developers.
- Leadership qualities to function effectively at a strategic level, driving planning, cross-team collaboration, and proactive initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage Linux systems, ensuring efficient operation and upkeep.
- Define and maintain the approved Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, Rocky) and compatible hardware models.
- Oversee lifecycle management, including OS patching, planning for end-of-life, and standard image baselining.
- Implement and enforce CIS hardening standards, encryption, authentication, and auditing processes.
- Collaborate with the security team to safeguard Rivians intellectual property via tool integration and compliance with policies.
- Broaden FleetDM coverage across all Rivian and Joint Venture endpoints.
- Integrate endpoint security tools, such as Microsoft Defender, VPN, and PKI certificates into the Linux environment.
- Provide dashboards and reporting for enhanced visibility, compliance, and health of the fleet.
- Create and maintain a future-focused Linux roadmap that aligns with Rivians enterprise objectives and Joint Venture expansion.
- Design scalable solutions for processes including onboarding, provisioning, package management, observability, and automation.
- Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert, influencing design decisions across teams and facilitating developer support.
