Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science. - Solid grasp of vehicle physics and automotive engineering. - Genuine enthusiasm for Rivians mission and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative environment. - 1-3 years of experience in data analytics within automotive or related engineering fields. - Proficiency in Python (Pandas, Numpy), PySpark, Matlab, and SQL for handling large datasets. Experience with extensive time series datasets is preferred. - Proven knowledge of various machine learning techniques relevant to automotive usage data, test data, or simulation data. - Familiarity with fatigue life estimation methods (e.g., Rainflow counting, Miners Rule) and statistical analysis techniques (e.g., Weibull analysis). - Strong analytical writing skills (reports, white papers, publications) alongside effective presentation abilities, emphasizing attention to detail.

Responsibilities

- Analyze fleet data to map travel, driving behaviors, road infrastructure, and vehicle utilization across the US and other regions. Construct classification models to identify usage patterns, frequency, and correlations. - Create and refine machine learning models to assess vehicle loads, driving events, fatigue damage, and vibration profiles from vehicle CAN signals, wheel-force transducer data, or accelerometer inputs. - Design models for standardizing vibration profiles across various vehicle locations, variants, and platforms. - Leverage simulation and test data to build a library of regression models assessing load variance and fatigue damage, reflecting differences in system design parameters and usage types. - Streamline processes by automating component block cycle development and accelerated duty cycle assessments based on real-world data. - Utilize machine learning on previous CAE results to devise strategies for minimizing the number of CAE test cases and iterations.
