Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or a closely related field, showcasing a strong history of delivering complex data solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to convert broad organizational challenges into well-structured, scalable technical plans and data architectures.
- Proficient in SQL and Python, with significant experience in the PySpark/Spark ecosystem for large-scale data processing.
- Extensive knowledge of modern cloud data platforms like Databricks and comprehensive experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.
- Expert-level skills in Git and adherence to best practices for code collaboration and deployment.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Define and oversee the long-term architectural strategy for essential reliability data pipelines and analytic platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and compliant with standards for data integrity.
- Lead the design and execution of optimized, complex ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing Python, Spark (PySpark), and various cloud services, addressing technical challenges linked to high-volume and unstructured vehicle telematics data.
- Act as the main technical expert on intricate data retrieval, modeling, and analysis using advanced SQL and data modeling techniques, while mentoring colleagues on best practices for technical dashboards and data products.
- Propel the creation and standardization of scalable analytical applications and internal data self-service tools, enhancing operational efficiency across Engineering and Quality teams, while guiding junior team members on application development standards.
- Independently analyze and resolve high-impact data challenges related to vehicle performance and quality, while leading early phases of predictive modeling initiatives and collaborating with Data Scientists for seamless transitions of prototypes to production.
- Enforce code quality, data modeling standards, and deployment best practices (CI/CD) within the team, acting as a technical mentor and subject matter expert for junior and mid-level team members.
