Requirements
Must:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Practical software engineering experience in developing backend services, APIs, or data-driven applications; solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and systems.
- Familiarity with LLM application principles including retrieval, grounding, prompt design, tool usage, evaluation, safety measures, and cost optimization.
- Proficient in contemporary software delivery methodologies (version control, CI/CD, testing, observability); experienced with cloud-native services and containerization.
- Strong collaborative abilities with product and business stakeholders; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive mindset focused on shipping, learning, and iterating; comfortable navigating rapidly changing technology environments with limited information.
- Proven track record of overseeing services or platform components, successfully delivering cross-service initiatives, and contributing to reliability and operational excellence.
- Strong expertise in AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, ECS/EKS).
- Comprehensive understanding of database and storage models (SQL, NoSQL, search engines).
- Proficient in one or more programming languages: Python, Typescript, Java, Go, C++, or Rust.
- Demonstrated capability to establish platform-level architectural standards and drive DevOps practices in a data-centric environment.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the technical architecture and hands-on development of prioritized AI applications, services, and platforms utilizing advanced LLM application stacks and scalable serving techniques.
- Develop a comprehensive perspective on AI investments by collaborating with engineering teams to integrate AI into their arenas, ensuring alignment, component reuse, and minimizing redundancy.
- Promote ongoing enhancement in AI practices and methodologies; assess emerging technologies and securely implement them as production-ready systems.
- Advocate for AI literacy and enablement, fostering adoption through demonstrations, guidance, and technical leadership throughout the organization.
- Establish stringent evaluation, monitoring, and safety protocols; implement offline and online metrics to ensure quality, safety, and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) while optimizing performance based on analytical insights.
- Optimize performance metrics such as latency, throughput, and operational costs at scale; provide guidance on make-or-buy decisions and vendor partnerships as necessary.
