Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in networking, security management, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
- Highly desired network certifications include Network+, Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Extreme, Fortinet, CompTIA, and HP.
- Familiarity with Fiber, CAT 5e, CAT 6, and CAT 6A is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience in a field service support role involving various hardware and networking equipment.
- Over 3 years of experience in network architecture and deployment is highly preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, both in-state and out-of-state, including overnight stays.
- Flexible availability for varying shifts based on customer requirements.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in conduct, attire, and behavior.
- Valid drivers license with an excellent driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Capacity to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort with climbing ladders and working at heights ranging from 3 to 40 feet.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and/or remote support, including hardware and networking assistance for customers routers, switches, and servers.
- Design and implement new networking solutions or enhance the efficiency of existing networks.
- Install, configure, and support various network equipment such as routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, and DNS/DHCP components while also configuring LANs and firewalls.
- Monitor network activity, troubleshoot faults, and resolve communication issues for our customers.
- Collaborate with OEMs, distributors, third-party support, and service vendors to ensure optimal network performance.
- Offer technical assistance and support for incoming inquiries related to networking equipment and computer systems.
- Communicate important repair steps, parts ordered, and estimated completion times to customers clearly and professionally.
- Update network documentation and communicate with project teams and clients.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
