Requirements
Must:
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a technical or engineering field
- Over 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- More than 2 years of experience programming PLCs
- Strong grasp of electrical theory and mechanical operations
- Proficient in ensuring processes, construction, installation, PLC/HMI programming, and operational requirements adhere to specifications and codes
- Capability to distinguish between mechanical failures and programming issues
- Competence in reading blueprints and electrical schematics
- Ability to absorb and retain instructional guidance
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout protocols
- Proficient general computer skills, including MS Office and quick adaptability to proprietary software
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen and articulate clearly
- High attention to detail, demonstrating thoroughness and accuracy
- Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and function effectively under pressure
Responsibilities
- Design, modify, and test code for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control systems
- Diagnose and repair PLC programs and backups to avert major failures
- Diagnose and rectify HVAC system issues; support line and maintenance technicians in troubleshooting
- Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and end-users to propose control system requirements and specifications
- Network data communications to SCADA VLAN for process control and automation data from production machinery
- Program and sustain the SCADA network using Factorytalk Historian
- Maintain the computer IP network for production equipment and data collection across the facility
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues with facility equipment
- Oversee existing electrical systems and advise management on potential points of failure
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and offer automation assistance
- Report food safety and quality concerns to the relevant personnel
- Uphold our food safety program, quality standards, and compliance of manufactured products
- Execute additional job-related tasks as assigned
