Requirements
Must:
- Proficiency in C/C++, ROS, Python, and Matlab
- Background in Mechatronics
- Experience in deploying, building, and interfacing with multi-threaded applications
- Ability to take full ownership of projects from initial prototyping to final deployment
- Strong skills in testing and debugging
- Willingness to participate in flight testing days
- Exposure to R&D and creating insightful white papers followed by real-world algorithm testing
- Experience with the PX4 stack is a plus
- Familiarity with UAV, UGV, and autonomous robotic systems is preferred
- Must be a US citizen
- PhD is desirable but relevant real-world experience is more important
Responsibilities
- Deploy, refine, optimize, and program algorithms from Matlab/Python into C/C++ and ROS for use on embedded compute systems (NVIDIA and Qualcomm) within autonomous UAV/robotics
- Develop, enhance, and combine navigation and autonomy algorithms for UAVs, including simulation and real-world flight testing
- Participate actively in flight testing days to validate our algorithms
- Conduct research and development activities, producing relevant white papers
- Engage in full project cycles, from conception through deployment and testing
- Collaborate with team members to improve and refine existing systems
- Interface with multi-threaded applications to ensure optimal performance

We are a hybrid office located in the Los Angeles area, offering a flexible work-from-home setup along with some in-person days and dedicated UAV flight testing days.
