Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Over 6 years of development experience as an application engineer or senior programmer analyst
- More than 5 years of experience in mainframe COBOL and/or iSeries development
- At least 5 years of experience with relational databases
Responsibilities
- Develops, tests, and implements modifications to existing mainframe COBOL programs, ensuring integration with MQ and API middleware
- Collaborates closely with client resources to aid in solution design and execution
- Supports users and the customer community to collect system requirements
- Manages interactions with multiple systems such as Order Processing, Warehouse Processing, Billing, Sales, and Credit Processing
- Oversees projects necessitating contributions from others
- Creates project plans and adjusts key elements including time, resources, and functionality to provide alternative solutions to project sponsors
- Communicates project progress and any arising issues
- Advocates for sound development practices
- Explores new technologies and methodologies
- Develops and modifies internal software applications
- Delivers comprehensive application development life cycle support, including specifications, prototypes, and quality assurance
- Assesses application workflows and user experiences
- Conducts sufficient testing to ensure programs meet established criteria
- Coordinates with users and product owners to gather and clarify requirements
