Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Over 7 years of experience as an application developer or software engineer
- More than 1 year of experience in team leadership, supervisory roles, technical lead, or project management positions
- Familiarity with client/server and web-based application development and support
- Knowledge of contemporary RESTful standards and scripting techniques for both client and server
- Proficient in Java, MySQL, JEE application servers (preferably JBoss), LAMP stack, IIS, XML, HTML, PHP, Perl, JavaScript (AJAX), MySQL, RSS, ATOM, JSON, and Apache
- Experience with command-line SFTP, SCP, SSH, Rsync, SVN, OCX, client plug-in development, and synchronization standards
- Practical knowledge of Linux and/or Mac server environments, continuous integration tools, and cloud computing best practices
- Experience in Agile project leadership or relevant certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe)
- Familiar with company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
- Experience in micro-service architecture
- Knowledge of system modernization techniques and practices
- Understanding of software development best practices
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools relevant for enhancements, migrations and upgrades
- Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
Responsibilities
- Oversee an application development team and manage the development and maintenance of various applications
- Instruct, guide, and review the work of software developers
- Collaborate with clients and technical staff to troubleshoot complex software issues and address suggestions for improvements
- Manage the application product portfolio and provide strategic vision and guidance
- Communicate with the Product Advisory Board to shape and maintain product line roadmaps, priorities, and timelines
- Develop and adapt internal and external software applications
- Coordinate development efforts with contract developers and other team members
- Provide comprehensive application development life cycle support, including specs, prototypes, development, quality assurance, and deployment
- Interact with internal and external users to support integration, development, and assistance
- Assist in development efforts with appropriate documentation
- Offer task and project estimates based on available information
- Engage business partners for consensus on key decision-making points
- Maintain or enhance expert-level knowledge of the product and its relevant business area
- Formulate a strategic vision for the product line while aligning customer needs with market opportunities and corporate strategy
- Treat the product line as a business, ensuring accountability for its performance
- Understand and develop expertise on the competitive landscape of the product line
- Conduct beta and pilot programs for early-stage products and samples
- Collaborate with third parties to evaluate partnership opportunities and external requirements
- Clearly define the product strategy and roadmap
- Develop core messaging and positioning for the product
