Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience in infrastructure management
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Unix/Linux systems administration
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing F5 load balancers
- Strong command-line proficiency and shell scripting capabilities
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as PowerVM and VMware
- Knowledge of automation tools
- Experience with monitoring solutions like Nagios and SolarWinds
- Proven history in patch management and infrastructure upgrades
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in liaising with upper management
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Unix/Linux/F5 Systems Engineers, encompassing both junior and senior members
- Supervise daily operations across AIX, RHEL, and F5 environments
- Manage team schedules, priorities, and workload allocation
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for technical and operational challenges
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure prompt incident management
- Attend project planning meetings and delegate work responsibilities
- Propel automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to security protocols and operational standards
- Collaborate with application teams, developers, and other infrastructure divisions
Description
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer Manager to lead our team of Systems Engineers in supporting mission-critical infrastructure across Unix, Linux, WebSphere, and F5 environments. In this role, you will blend technical leadership with operational oversight to ensure our distributed systems are reliable, scalable, and secure. The successful candidate will contribute hands-on, delegate tasks, and work alongside cross-functional teams on application hosting, infrastructure upgrades, and automation projects.
