Chief Data Center Engineer

- Manage daily operations of essential systems like HVAC, UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, and fire suppression systems - Create and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for optimal efficiency and availability - Oversee vendor contracts, and coordinate commissioning, testing, and maintenance timelines for all mechanical and electrical systems - Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and emergency operating procedures (EOPs) - Collaborate closely with the Director of Data Center Operations and the Director of Infrastructure on the design and functionality of the Data Center - Lead and guide a team of engineers and technicians to achieve continuous operational excellence - Provide training and development opportunities to improve team technical skills - Work together with IT operations, network, and facility teams to ensure maintenance activities do not disrupt services - Formulate long-term strategies for capacity planning, system enhancements, and energy efficiency advancements - Supervise commissioning for new data center projects or expansions - Assess new technologies to enhance reliability, automation, and sustainability - Ensure all operations adhere to relevant codes (NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, etc.) and corporate standards - Conduct risk assessments and root cause analyses for incidents or failures - Maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting for audits, SLAs, and KPIs
