Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Over 7 years of experience as an application developer or software engineer
- At least 1 year of prior experience in a leadership, supervisory, technical lead, or project management role
- Proficiency in developing and supporting client/server and internet-based applications
- Familiarity with the latest RESTful practices and understanding the differences between client-side and server-side scripting
- Knowledge of Java, MySQL, JEE Application Servers (preferably JBoss), Lamp stack, IIS, XML, HTML, PHP, Perl, JavaScript (AJAX), RSS, ATOM, JSON, and Apache
- Experience with command-line tools like SFTP, SCP, SSH, and Rsync
- Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN
- Hands-on experience with client plug-in development and other standard-based feed synchronization
- Knowledge of Linux and/or Mac server environments
- Understanding of Continuous Integration tools and cloud computing principles
- Prior experience in Agile project leadership or relevant certification (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe)
- Understanding of organizational policies and operational procedures
- Experience with Micro-Service architecture and system modernization techniques
- Knowledge of software development best practices
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools to facilitate enhancements, migrations, upgrades, and deployments
- Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL)
Responsibilities
- Lead an application development team, overseeing both development and maintenance of applications
- Direct and evaluate the work of software developers
- Collaborate with customers and technical teams to address complex software issues and gather suggestions for enhancements
- Manage the application product portfolio, offering strategic vision and leadership
- Communicate with the Product Advisory Board to develop and maintain advanced product line roadmaps, priorities, and timelines
- Develop and modify both internal and external-facing software applications
- Coordinate application development efforts with contract developers and other internal teams
- Provide end-to-end application development lifecycle support including specifications, prototypes, development, quality assurance, and deployment
- Effectively communicate with internal and external users for channel integration, development, and support
- Offer comprehensive documentation to support the development process
- Provide task and project estimates based on available data
- Engage with business partners to align on key decision points
- Maintain or acquire expert-level knowledge in product and relevant business domains
- Formulate the strategic vision for product lines, integrating customer needs with market opportunities and overall company strategy
- Operate the product line as a business, ensuring accountability for performance
- Understand and develop expertise in the competitive landscape of product lines
- Execute beta and pilot programs for early-stage products and samples
- Collaborate with external parties to evaluate partnership opportunities and requirements
- Establish a clear definition of product strategy and roadmap
- Create core positioning and messaging for the product
