Requirements
Must:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, or experience in a hotel or related field is essential.
- A minimum of one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Attendance at trade school or college courses in a related field is advantageous.
- Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work long hours, as needed.
- The position requires the ability to exert more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, more than 50 pounds of force frequently, and more than 20 pounds regularly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of employees and guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Competence in actively listening to, understanding, and addressing concerns from employees and guests.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental tasks to meet deadlines.
- A friendly, attentive, and service-minded approach to every encounter with guests and employees.
- Participation in all required hotel meetings and training sessions.
- Regular attendance in accordance with Highgate Hotel Standards, based on scheduling needs.
- Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Adherence to Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
- A focus on productivity, identifying issues, and assisting in implementing solutions.
- Effectiveness in addressing challenges, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as necessary.
- Ability to understand and apply complex information from various sources to achieve objectives.

Technologies
Responsibilities
- I am responsible for ensuring the property is maintained in optimal condition with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
- I make repairs to the hotelโs air conditioning system, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- I perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, such as boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- I take required readings on equipment and test cooling towers, recording relevant data.
- I replace and program televisions as necessary.
- I replace light switches, electrical receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- I conduct repairs on furniture and replace or repair pumps.
- I perform plumbing repairs, such as addressing clogged drains and changing washers or fittings.
- I am able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams effectively.
- I trace and repair all types of water lines and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
- I maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
- I test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
- I paint designated areas and repair and finish sheetrock.
- I repair various wall coverings and manage the hotel electronic lock system repair and programming.
