Requirements
Must:
- Strong knowledge of digital instrumentation & control systems
- Proficiency in industrial networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls)
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles (defense-in-depth, network segmentation, hardening)
- Experience with plant monitoring systems, security computers, and cybersecurity architecture
- Familiarity with PI systems and ERDS interfaces is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret control wiring diagrams, one-lines, schematics, and logic diagrams
- Competence in working with Windows (XP–Server 2022) and Linux environments
- 5+ years of experience in nuclear cybersecurity or digital process systems at a U.S. commercial nuclear plant
- Strong grasp of NRC regulations (10 CFR 50.59) and nuclear cybersecurity programs
- Knowledge of safety and compliance protocols
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear access
- High School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, IT, or Computer Science is preferred
- NRC Cybersecurity Training and ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) are preferred certifications
- Nuclear I&C Systems Certification and Duke Energy / RNP-specific qualifications are highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Support digital upgrades, modifications, and system integrations in line with 10 CFR 50.59
- Collaborate with engineering, DPS, and project teams to implement secure digital technologies
- Ensure compatibility with existing systems and infrastructure within the plant
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Digital Process Systems in Nuclear Projects
- Conduct cybersecurity and DPS evaluations for Engineering Changes
- Execute work orders and requests within plant systems
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting inputs
- Implement and validate cybersecurity controls for Critical Digital Assets
- Perform cybersecurity assessments, walkdowns, and validation processes
- Aid in meeting NRC cybersecurity requirements and site-specific standards
- Assist in the creation of cybersecurity documentation and assessment presentations
- Apply network hardening, vulnerability mitigation, and defensive architecture practices
