Requirements
Must:
- An active and transferable Top Secret security clearance that can be transitioned to a TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory before the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is essential, as only U.S. citizens qualify for a security clearance.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- At least two years of experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java or C++ in a Linux or UNIX environment.
- Proficiency in using unit testing tools (e.g., JUnit).
- Experience with Python programming.
- Demonstrated experience in an Agile/DevOps setting.
Responsibilities
- I will engage in the design, development, and maintenance of advanced software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems.
- I will closely collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and fellow software engineers to provide dependable and high-performance software solutions.
- I will design, implement, and test Java and Python-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems.
- I will work alongside legacy platform teams to transition workloads onto my pipelines.
- I will cooperate with cross-functional teams to establish software requirements and specifications.
- I will modify existing code as necessary to enhance functionality.
- I will ensure software performance, reliability, and scalability are maintained.
- I will take part in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration tasks.
- I will contribute to achieving program and project milestones under the guidance of my immediate supervisor.
- I will adhere to established software processes and procedures, documenting and managing operations concepts, requirements, and other software engineering artifacts.
- I will learn about the inner workings of satellite ground systems and utilize new tools that keep me at the forefront of technology.
