Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field
- Proficient in combat system hardware and software installation, integration, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Navy C4I Systems and/or Vertical Launching Systems (VLS) MK57 or MK41
- 5+ years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux in operational or enterprise settings is preferred
- 5+ years of hands-on network troubleshooting experience, including routing and switching
- Possession of certifications such as CISCO CCNA, Red Hat OS, and Fiber Optics is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Link 16 and CEC Systems is a plus
- Certification as a cardholder for MK57 or MK41 systems
- Previous experience aboard U.S. Naval ships is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical contributor on the Shipboard Test Team, collaborating with various stakeholders
- Conduct equipment installations, checkouts, testing, reporting results, and maintaining records
- Ensure the operational status of the Ships tactical networks and systems
- Foster cooperative interactions with Zumwalt shipbuilders and their suppliers
- Provide daily internal progress updates to the TSCE lead
- Build and sustain relationships with engineering and customer representatives
- Offer support for system operations during at-sea test events
- Be prepared for physical demands, including working in confined spaces, climbing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and temporary sea assignments
- Travel up to 30% to test and activation locations, including at-sea periods on Zumwalt class vessels
