Requirements
Must:
- Active and transferable TS/SCI with Polygraph U.S. government issued security clearance required before start date.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory for security clearance eligibility.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience is essential.
- Proficient in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment.
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.
- Experience with scripting languages including Perl and Python.
- Background in Agile/DevOps methodologies is important.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and sustain advanced software applications for Satellite Ground Systems.
- Collaborate closely with systems engineers, hardware designers, and fellow software engineers.
- Create and implement Java-based applications and software components for satellite operations.
- Define software requirements and specifications in conjunction with cross-functional teams.
- Modify and enhance existing code as needed.
- Ensure the softwares performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in software design reviews, code audits, and system integration activities.
- Assist in meeting program and project milestones as directed by immediate supervisors.
- Adhere to established software processes, development, documentation, and operational management standards.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in Java and satellite technology to encourage innovation.
