We require that you have an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to your start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only citizens are eligible for a security clearance. A current Secret security clearance is also needed. Generally, this position necessitates a bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 5 years of pertinent experience. Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems, including installation, administration, patching, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments, is essential. You should also have experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and knowledge of fundamental network engineering principles.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Principal Linux System Administrator, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Linux/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Your role will involve designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining physical and virtual Linux servers across a sizable enterprise network. Responsibilities will include system hardening, patch management, automation using Ansible, provisioning via Kickstart, lifecycle management with Red Hat Satellite, and engaging with containerization tools like Podman or Docker. You will collaborate with various teams, including engineers, software developers, and cybersecurity professionals, to ensure compliance with frameworks, resolve infrastructure challenges, and deliver support for mission systems located in a closed DoD area.
