Must:
We require candidates to possess an active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance, which must be secured before the start date. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for this clearance. To qualify, you should typically hold a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Additionally, experience in Information Technology Infrastructure or Software Engineering, proficiency with the Linux platform, and development experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) are essential. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy is also required. A CompTIA Security Certification or the ability to obtain one within three months is preferred.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will closely collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and software engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance software solutions. Anticipated responsibilities include monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues, working across various engineering disciplines in an agile DevOps environment, and developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation such as design documents and user manuals. You will also provide direction and support to engineers needing assistance with infrastructure, prototype software scripts and virtualization environments, and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies. We expect you to actively participate in improving our software infrastructure by identifying enhancements and designing implementations that support satellite ground systems.
Description
We are seeking a highly competent Software Infrastructure Engineer with experience in DevOps tools to join our Satellite Ground Systems team. Your focus will be on designing, implementing, and maintaining the software infrastructure necessary for the operation and management of satellite ground systems. The position is based onsite in State College, PA, Ft. Meade, MD, or Aurora, CO. We also prefer candidates with experience in VMWare and AWS, as well as knowledge of Java with unit and integration testing experience. Familiarity with satellite ground systems, networking, distributed systems, and cloud computing technologies will be advantageous.
