Requirements

Must:
- I require that you hold an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to your start date. - You must be a U.S. citizen, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. - The required security clearance level is TS/SCI without Polygraph. - Typically, a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Database Engineering is expected. - I expect you to have five (5) years of experience in performing relational data modeling with Oracle and PostgreSQL Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). - Eight (8) years of experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, as well as PostgreSQL SQL and pl/pgsql skills, is necessary. - Proficiency in bash scripting and Python is essential. - Experience collaborating with Systems and Software Engineers to design, implement, and modify backend databases for application interaction is required. - You should possess Linux command line skills to carry out database administration activities and deployment automation. - A current and transferable Top Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance is needed before your start date, with the capability of obtaining a TS/SCI clearance beforehand.

Responsibilities

- I will need you to identify and understand customer requirements, applying your solid understanding of database principles and software engineering to convert those needs into actionable design solutions. - You'll be tasked with translating needs and design specifications into physical data models. - Analyzing business requirements, RFCs, and technical specifications to pinpoint data modeling impacts and design necessities will be part of your responsibilities. - I expect you to work collaboratively with systems engineers, product owners, architects, and stakeholders to gather and confirm data requirements. - You will be responsible for designing new database structures (like tables, indexes, constraints, and views) and modifying current models to fulfill program needs. - Authorship and implementation of database changes (DDL) using database change control automation will fall under your purview. - Working alongside developers to advocate best practices for database interactions, as well as writing and maintaining SQL statements, is crucial. - I encourage you to utilize data modeling tools such as Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, Oracle Designer, and others. - Demonstrating critical thinking and effectively communicating your ideas and concepts clearly will be fundamental. - You'll harness your proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities while working in an Agile/Scrum environment. - You must be able to secure and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs. Additionally, obtaining a security certification within 60 days of your start is required.
