Requirements
Must:
- An active and transferable Top Secret security clearance, which can be transitioned to a TS/SCI security clearance, is required before the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens can obtain a security clearance.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with two years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Proficiency in object-oriented software design and development using Java and related technologies (e.g., Spring Framework, Wildfly/JBoss, ActiveMQ) within a Linux environment.
- Familiarity with software testing tools (e.g., JUnit, Cucumber).
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Elastic Stack/ELK stack).
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- I will design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems.
- I will collaborate closely with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to ensure delivery of reliable, high-performance software solutions.
- I will create, implement, and test Java code alongside Spring Framework, Wildfly/JBoss, and ActiveMQ-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems.
- I will utilize the Elastic Stack for data visualization and analytics.
- I will work in parallel with legacy platform teams to gradually migrate workloads onto the new pipelines.
- I will cooperate with cross-functional teams to define software needs and specifications.
- I will review existing code and make modifications as necessary.
- I will ensure the software's performance, reliability, and scalability.
- I will participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
- I will contribute to completing program and project milestones under the direct supervision of my immediate supervisor.
- I will adhere to established software processes and procedures, including the development, documentation, and maintenance of operational concepts and required products from software engineering.
