Requirements

Must:
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of relevant experience - Familiarity with electromagnetic or electrohydraulic control actuation systems - Experience in systems, electrical, or mechanical engineering, specifically for actuation systems or motion controls - Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science is preferred - Proven ability to develop technical solutions for complex issues throughout various product lifecycle stages - Skills in estimating project efforts and breaking down tasks into manageable components - Strong oral and written communication abilities for diverse audiences - Experience in developing requirements and interpreting technical needs from higher-level specifications - Knowledge in actuation system requirements, system architecture, verification, and validation processes - Familiarity with industry standards and specifications pertinent to system design - Background in feedback control systems and their design, testing, and integration - Experience with system modeling tools such as Matlab/Simulink and SysML - Proficiency in Hardware In The Loop development and associated tools - Knowledge in designing test equipment for electromechanical systems under high loads - Basic understanding of managing grounding, shielding, and electrical noise in compact electromechanical designs - Current DoD Security Clearance is a plus

Responsibilities

- Operate with a high degree of autonomy while possessing a deep understanding of the Systems Engineering field - Oversee small projects that enhance the Precision Control Actuation System organization related to assigned programs - Provide mentorship and guidance to peers - Engage in detailed system design, test design and execution, and systems engineering initiatives - Formulate technical solutions for high-performance actuation systems and motion control challenges - Cover the product life cycle from concept and design to prototypes, manufacturing, integration, and verification testing - Apply sound principles of systems engineering to address complex system challenges, collaborating with various engineering teams - Develop requirements for actuation systems, modules, and corresponding software/firmware - Enhance tools and processes for actuation systems and support development of Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA) standards - Adopt Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices for actuation systems - Foster efficiency through standardized verification methods and reusable design documents - Participate in collaborative activities with internal teams and external partners, suppliers, and customers
