Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience managing a medium or larger scale production system
- Extensive expertise in one or more of the following areas: Cloud infrastructure, Unix/Linux, Scripting, or Security
- Proficiency in automating tasks using Python, Javascript, or Ruby
- A considerate, flexible, and team-oriented approach
- Knowledge of networks and HTTP protocols
- Competence in shell operations, including navigating, SSH access, key management, log file analysis, file manipulation, service management, and permission adjustments
- Strong oral and written communication abilities, both technical and non-technical
- Capacity to quickly learn new development and operations competencies
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow Infrastructure Engineers to develop and sustain our production systems ensuring reliability and enhancing development team productivity
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to infrastructure, networking, and operating systems
- Create and manage software for operations to automate configuration, deployment, and monitoring of our core systems
- Oversee security systems, manage Linux file permissions, and configure network firewalls
- Perform automated deployments to set up new production environments or update existing ones
- Establish and manage alarm systems for notifications regarding error conditions
- Participate in on-call rotations to serve as the primary line of defense during production incidents
