System Engineer - Application & Batch

- Bachelors degree or equivalent in a technology-related discipline (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) or similar experience required; a Masters degree is a plus - Over 10 years of practical experience in deploying and/or maintaining highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale - More than 4 years of experience in Cloud support (AWS) and migration; skilled in building and managing resilient platforms in AWS cloud environments - Practical experience with container orchestration, preferably Kubernetes - Familiarity with operating and implementing complex, concurrent service-based applications - Proficient in automation using various scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) - Experience managing infrastructure with code tools (e.g., IAM, ARM, Terraform, Chef) - Strong understanding of Cloud Computing and DevOps principles including CI/CD pipelines - Experience in instrumentation and system building, monitoring, logging, and alerting services for large-scale distributed systems - Demonstrated ability to maintain scalability and resiliency in intricate environments - Proven experience in applying advanced observability techniques at scale - Ability to utilize modern monitoring tools effectively (e.g., DataDog, Prometheus, Splunk) - Extensive knowledge of Oracle and PL/SQL - Capable of analyzing code (PL/SQL, Perl, Shell script) to troubleshoot and propose long-term solutions; skilled in writing PL/SQL code, stored procedures, functions, triggers, etc. - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills while collaborating with the team on daily operations, including addressing data quality issues, analyzing system functionality, and responding to system alerts and reporting requests - Provide timely support for Trading, Portfolio Management, and Research applications - Strong technical background with a high level of comfort in Linux, database systems, networking concepts, and IT Service Management (ITSM) standards - Experience with batch scheduling software; familiarity with Autosys is advantageous - Evaluate client platforms and recommend enhancements in automation, CI/CD practices, security, and platform services.
