Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of experience with Oracle databases
- Proficient in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Experience with shell or PowerShell scripting
- Preferred: Background in the insurance sector
- Preferred: Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Preferred: Knowledge of source control/GitLab
Responsibilities
- Create and manage databases for testing, development, and production settings
- Analyze, test, and execute physical database design
- Document current environments and maintain updated patches
- Ensure data recovery, maintenance, integrity, and space requirements are fulfilled by formulating and monitoring database management policies
- Audit existing environments and provide capacity planning and best practices for production, development, and testing environments
- Conduct performance assessments and tuning related to the database system
- Collaborate with system administrators, technical managers, developers, and architects to provide technical insights
- Migrate data and/or databases across different platforms
- Implement database changes during scheduled after-hours maintenance windows
- Identify and adopt automation or self-service solutions to enhance current processes
- Engage in a bi-weekly on-call rotation
Description
We are seeking a senior-level Oracle Database Administrator for a remote contract position to support an insurance client during CST or EST business hours. This role requires a candidate with extensive Oracle expertise, focusing on automation through scripting. We offer a competitive pay range of $45 - $48 per hour, flexible telecommuting options, and a range of benefits including health, dental, vision, and a 401K plan, all subject to eligibility criteria.
