Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of experience in database administration
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server
- Demonstrated expertise in database design, performance tuning, and optimization
- Experience with enterprise applications and multi-tier architectures
- Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS is a plus)
- Experience in migrating on-premises databases to cloud environments
- Proficiency in ETL processes and data integration
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Comfort with DevOps tools (CI/CD, Git)
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Relevant certifications (Azure, DBA) are an advantage
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and enhance Oracle databases in a production setting
- Spearhead migration of on-premises databases to cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying issues and applying tuning measures
- Oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to safeguard data integrity
- Design and implement both logical and physical data structures
- Facilitate ETL processes and ensure data integration across various systems
- Automate and manage database operations and workflows
- Ensure database security, compliance, and adherence to industry best practices
- Collaborate closely with development teams in an Agile (Scrum) framework
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to internal stakeholders
Description
We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to enhance our enterprise applications within a modern cloud environment. Situated in Austin, Texas, this contract position offers competitive pay ranging from $77 to $82 per hour, with work hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. In this role, you will primarily focus on Oracle database administration, performance enhancement, and cloud migration, ideally within an Agile team.
