Requirements
Must:
- Over 8 years of experience in information security and systems architecture
- Extensive background in designing secure cloud-native architectures, preferably in AWS
- In-depth knowledge of NIST 800-53 and related cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., TCF)
- Proficiency in Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Architecture
- Practical experience in threat modeling and risk assessment
- Familiarity with securing microservices, APIs, and containerized applications
- Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools
- Background in integrating security into DevSecOps or CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Current residency in Austin, Texas
- Nice to have: experience with AI/LLM security and data pipelines
- Nice to have: knowledge of data protection regulations concerning PII, PHI, and sensitive information
- Nice to have: experience presenting to executive stakeholders
- Nice to have: experience developing security policies and standards
- Nice to have: certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Security
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure architectures tailored for cloud environments
- Lead the security architecture strategy for microservices and distributed systems
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for intricate environments
- Secure APIs, containers, and applications based on microservices
- Implement and oversee cloud security controls along with CSPM tools
- Integrate security practices into CI/CD and DevSecOps frameworks
- Define and uphold IAM and Zero Trust principles
- Guarantee compliance with NIST 800-53 and the Texas Cybersecurity Framework (TCF)
- Analyze business needs and formulate secure technical solutions
- Create security standards, documentation, and best practices
- Collaborate with engineering, cloud, and business teams to enhance security awareness
Description
We are searching for a senior-level Cloud Security Architect to spearhead the development and execution of secure, cloud-native architectures across our modern enterprise systems. This contract position, based in Austin, Texas, offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $69 to $74. The role focuses on fortifying microservices, APIs, and DevSecOps pipelines while ensuring adherence to established cybersecurity frameworks.
