Requirements
Must:
- Over 8 years of experience in telecom network provisioning and grooming
- Solid experience with network downtimes, traffic migration, and maintenance activities
- Proficient in Layer 1 technologies such as SONET (OC3, OC12, OC48, OC192)
- Familiar with TDM-Copper standards (DS0, DS1, DS3, SW voice trunks, PRI)
- Hands-on experience with Ciena (4200, 6500, etc.), Fujitsu/ Flashwave SONET, Nortel MUX, Optera, and DXCs (Telabs, Alcatel, Titans)
- Previous experience with client systems like BGW, TCOMS, and Maintenance Tracker
- Knowledgeable about central office environments
- Willingness to work in various shifts (24/7 schedule)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and test the customers network for grooming and provisioning
- Migrate and transition traffic from decommissioned network elements at the central office
- Focus on Layer 1 technologies (TDM/SONET) and provide support for other network technologies as necessary
- Collaborate with onsite technicians at the central office or client site to verify migration pathways
- Execute maintenance, activation, and implementation tasks as required
- Partner with internal teams for guidance and provide updates to the program leader
- Schedule tasks and escalate issues when necessary
Description
We are seeking a Network Grooming/Provisioning Engineer to join our team remotely, focusing on prepping, testing, grooming, and provisioning customer networks. This role plays a crucial part in migrating traffic from decommissioned network elements at a central office. Located in Santa Clara, California, we offer a competitive hourly rate ranging from $50 to $60, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and a 401K plan, depending on eligibility.
