Requirements
Must:
- We require 10+ years of experience building and supporting mainframe-based tax management systems using COBOL, including Install/1 system management.
- We require 10+ years of hands-on development experience with COBOL, EASYTRIEVE, MVS JCL, CICS, SQL, and DB2 in a mainframe environment.
- We require 5+ years of experience documenting technical and functional requirements.
- We need strong knowledge of software quality assurance methods and testing practices across the full systems development lifecycle.
- We require experience working with VSAM, DB2, and IMS databases.
- We need familiarity with TSO/ISPF, z/OS, MVS, IMS, and Windows environments.
- We require proven experience troubleshooting and debugging mainframe applications.
- We require a bachelors degree.
- We prefer candidates located in the Eastern Time Zone.
Responsibilities
- We participate in requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance support for our legacy mainframe tax management system.
- We collaborate with support teammates to determine the best path to resolve issues in day-to-day system support.
- We make necessary software changes and validate them through testing when issues require code updates.
- We work closely with team members on the design, development, and testing of legislative and operational system changes.
- We provide direct development and technical support for our mainframe-based legacy tax platform.
Description
We are hiring a contract Mainframe Programmer to work remotely, with preference for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone. This role supports our legacy tax management system and offers a schedule of 8am to 5pm.
