Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 6 years of experience in implementing and managing software solutions
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing and developing mainframe technical solutions
- At least 2 years of hands-on programming experience in a mainframe setting (e.g., CICS, COBOL) following a project life cycle methodology
- Proficiency in IBM z/OS environment tools and languages, including COBOL, CICS, Assembler, Easytrieve, ISPF, VSAM, Endeavor, TSO, JCL, and IBM Utilities
- Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, including requirements gathering and functional/technical design documentation
- Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting abilities
- Capacity to quickly grasp and implement business processes and technical concepts
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within team-oriented environments
- Expertise in technical analysis and a commitment to continuous learning in evolving technologies
- Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), including business process automation, shared object models, system adapters, and publish/subscribe architecture
- At least 2 years of system design experience in the finance or insurance sector
Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop software/web applications that align with business and management needs in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment
- Design, develop, test, implement, document, and support mainframe systems and integrated solutions
- Ensure successful deployment of application enhancements, migrations, and system installations
- Collaborate with leadership, analysts, and cross-functional teams to implement technical changes while providing support
- Support production environments by troubleshooting issues and ensuring operational continuity
- Integrate Credit Union systems with vendor platforms, including debit and credit card processing
- Research and assess options to design efficient and cost-effective solutions
- Work with analysts to validate the completeness and accuracy of project requirements
- Confirm application performance through comprehensive functional unit testing
- Create documentation for technical designs and application functionalities
- Participate in design/code reviews to ensure smooth operations and future planning
- Perform additional tasks as required to support the organizations vision, purpose, and values
