HPC Linux software engineer

- Bachelors degree in a STEM-related field - At least 10 years of professional experience in relevant software engineering roles - Approximately 5 years of experience developing modeling and simulation software in diverse, multi-platform environments - Familiarity with HPC user workflows for modeling/simulation tasks and GUIs - Understanding of High Performance Computing (HPC) environments and associated technologies - Proven skills in Fortran, C, and/or C++ programming languages - Proficiency in BASH and Korn scripting - Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems with the ability to troubleshoot end-user issues independently - Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including coding standards, unit testing, and configuration management - Ability to analyze, debug, and maintain existing code effectively - Comprehensive understanding of the software development process from requirements gathering to testing of scalable applications in a Linux setting - Experience in mentoring junior engineers or scientists and conducting code reviews - Ability to design and deliver training sessions or onboarding materials for both HPC users and internal personnel - Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on teamwork and creative problem-solving - Outstanding programming capabilities and meticulous attention to detail - Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively
