Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience with Cerner Millennium and PharmNet
- Proficient in inpatient PharmNet configuration and upkeep
- Knowledgeable in Medication Order Management and CPOE workflows
- Skilled in Order Catalog and Order Sentence creation
- Familiar with PowerPlans including medication components
- Understanding of Clinical Decision Support (CDS) principles
- Competent in Dose Range Checking methodologies
- Experienced in Price Schedule setup
- Ability to use Cerner Command Language (CCL)
- Proficient in Discern Analytics
- Familiar with Health Connect interface engine
- Knowledge of HL7 v2.x messaging standards (ORM, ORU, RDE, ADT)
- Experience with FHIR API integrations
- Background in Pharmacy Operations Build
- Knowledgeable in formulary management practices
- Proficient in NDC mapping methodologies
- Skilled in charge capture and CDM mapping processes
- Understanding of dispense categories
- Experience with inventory logic using automation or carousel systems
- Skilled in managing controlled substance workflows
- Familiarity with Third-Party Pharmacy Systems (preferred)
- Experience with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (e.g., Pyxis, Omnicell)
- Knowledge of smart pump libraries (Alaris, ICU Medical)
- Familiarity with carousel and inventory systems
- Experience with compounding systems
- Understanding of pharmacy robotics
- Knowledge of ePrescribing systems (e.g., SureScripts)
- Familiar with 340B systems (e.g., MacroHelix)
- Understanding of revenue cycle and charging interfaces
- Familiarity with Sentri7 and MedKeeper
- Skilled in end-to-end medication workflow design
- Experience in multi-hospital standardization strategies
- Proficient in translating pharmacy operations into technical designs
- Capable of documenting interface requirements
- Skilled in creating data flow diagrams
- Experience in risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Experience in hospital migrations to Cerner (nice to have)
- Familiarity with smart infusion device integrations (nice to have)
- Cloud-hosted Cerner Millennium experience (nice to have)
- Knowledge of FHIR-based medication integrations (nice to have)
- Strong communication skills with both pharmacists and IT teams (nice to have)
- Effective workflow analysis skills (nice to have)
- Cerner Millennium Pharmacy Certification or proof of completion (nice to have)
- Over 8 years of overall systems or architecture experience
- Minimum of 5 years of Cerner pharmacy experience required
- Bachelors degree in a related field required
- Advanced degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive medication workflows
- Provide architectural guidance on Cerner Millennium and PharmNet
- Support the development and enhancement of inpatient pharmacy systems
- Lead design initiatives for hospital transitions to Cerner
- Collaborate with pharmacy, clinical, and IT teams to ensure system integration
- Create and document interfaces along with integration needs
- Develop data flow diagrams and technical architecture documentation
- Identify potential risks and create strategies for their mitigation
Description
We are offering a position that supports our clients acute care pharmacy systems, with a primary focus on Cerner Millennium and PharmNet. This role involves designing and supporting medication workflows, aiding in hospital construction projects, and managing Cerner migrations. We proudly provide a flexible telecommute opportunity on a contract basis, with compensation ranging from $80 to $95 per hour, based on your qualifications. Our working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM.
