Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Extensive understanding of the Azure control plane, resource limitations, and architectural considerations
- Proficient in creating standardized, production-ready architectures for AKS, Azure Container Apps, and Azure App Service
- Experience in designing Active-Active multi-region architectures for Tier 1 services with an RTO of less than 4 hours
- Skilled in building secure networking infrastructures (Hub-and-Spoke, Private Link) and managing failover patterns for PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and Redis
- Proficiency in Terraform for crafting modular, reusable, and testable enterprise code
- Knowledge of security protocols and identity management using Entra ID (Managed Identities, Federated Credentials)
- Familiarity with observability stacks such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Prometheus
- Ability to create reusable, policy-compliant patterns and cost controls
- Experience with Wiz (security), FinOps, GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux), and Azure management APIs
Responsibilities
- Design and develop an enterprise-scale internal developer platform to alleviate infrastructure challenges while adhering to strict security and cost governance
- Create standardized architectures that enable engineering teams to securely and reliably deploy complex workloads
- Bridge the gap between infrastructure operations and developer experience through effective architecture solutions
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement high availability systems and disaster recovery strategies
- Build secure networking frameworks and manage database failover solutions
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code practices for efficient deployment and management of resources
Description
We are excited to seek a Senior Azure Architect to enhance our Platform Engineering group at our Charlotte, North Carolina location. This role focuses on developing robust internal developer platforms to streamline operations while prioritizing security and cost-effectiveness. We offer a competitive hourly rate between $68 and $73, with work hours from 9 am to 5 pm.
