Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5 years of experience in relational database design and data normalization
- Strong collaboration and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in an agile or scrum environment as a shared resource
- Familiarity with data modeling tools such as DbSchema, ER/Studio, or erwin
- Proficiency in relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Preferred experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
- Knowledge of data catalog tools like Alation or Collibra
- Understanding of Data Governance concerns like data privacy, security, and retention
- Experience in insurance, insurtech, or fintech sectors
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to convert business requirements into database designs that enhance the development of resilient software products
- Use modern data modeling tools to execute physical data modeling tasks
- Adhere to and contribute to best practices in data modeling
- Encourage the collection and retention of metadata through a data catalog solution
- Work alongside database engineering, big data, and information security teams to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of all data
Description

We are seeking an Application Data Modeler to engage with our Software Engineers in creating databases for online applications that deliver industry-leading services to our customers. This is a telecommute position on a contract basis, with work hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
