Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree is a plus.
- 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, including 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Strong skills in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C# and their frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as DevOps methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of software architecture, system design, and scalable solutions.
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams and executing complex projects.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Background in community services, healthcare, or nonprofit technology sectors is advantageous.
- Capability to work independently in a remote setup while fostering team collaboration.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection for remote operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement technical strategies that align with organizational goals and address community needs.
- Supervise the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and priorities to ensure timely and high-quality solution delivery.
- Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to transform business needs into technical specifications.
- Establish and uphold engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Conduct code reviews, offer constructive feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of systems.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and suggest enhancements to existing systems.
