Requirements
Must:
- Technical experience in security engineering, software engineering, firmware engineering, hardware engineering, or related fields
- Experience in technical management, including leading cross-functional teams, overseeing project budgets, and mentoring team members
- Proven ability to steer complex projects to successful completion
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, or other widely-used languages
- Competence in devising thorough and effective threat models and identifying system vulnerabilities
- Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal, catered to technical and non-technical audiences
- Capacity to evaluate policy choices considering various technical factors
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary setting
- Familiarity with the MS Office suite

Preferred:
- Completion of programs like the Computer Network Operations Development Program (CNODP), Remote Interactive Operator Training (RIOT), or equivalent experience
- Background in red team operations or developing offensive cyber capabilities
- Knowledge of advanced persistent threat (APT) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and proficiency in defense strategies against them
- Creative thinking regarding offensive and/or defensive techniques and strategies, beyond mere compliance with existing regulations
- Familiarity with U.S. cybersecurity agencies, authorities, and policy-making processes
- Experience in working with government on cybersecurity policy matters
- Proficiency in providing guidance to non-technical stakeholders about security issues
- Understanding of the AI/ML hardware stack (e.g., GPUs, TPUs, data center design)
- Understanding of the AI/ML software stack (e.g., CUDA, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ray)
- Experience in AI research, ML model training, or deployment of models
- Background in securing AI systems
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage intricate projects that encompass technical research, policy analysis, and infrastructure development
- Formulate AI-specific threat models and software tools for evaluating AI cyber capabilities
- Identify critical areas for new security research and development
- Present the findings of your research through policy briefs and detailed reports for various audiences
- Address important questions regarding the security of AI systems and their cyber capabilities
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to fulfill project objectives

We are currently seeking multiple Visiting AI Security Residents for a fixed-term appointment with options for renewal, allowing for potential long-term opportunities with our organization.
