Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science (additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree)
- Over 5 years of extensive experience managing Tableau Server environments
- In-depth knowledge of Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep Builder, and Tableau Server/Cloud
- Salesforce Certified Tableau Server Administrator Certification
- Proficient in SQL, database management, scripting languages (Python/PowerShell), and security protocols (AD/SAML)
- Understanding of the infrastructure setup for Tableau Server, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics within Tableau
- Ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
Responsibilities
- Deploying and configuring Tableau Server, optimizing nodes for scalability and high availability, and integration with identity providers like Active Directory
- Managing users, groups, and sites, defining roles (Viewer, Explorer, Creator), and overseeing content access management (projects, workbooks, data sources)
- Implementing security measures such as SSO, SSL, and data encryption; ensuring compliance and managing licenses
- Monitoring server performance (CPU, memory), optimizing extracts, Prep Flows, and background processes, and addressing usage bottlenecks
- Establishing secure database connections, overseeing live/extract data sources, and scheduling data refreshes
- Carrying out backups, disaster recovery, software upgrades, and resolving user/server-related issues
- Assisting with analytics and reporting requests as necessary
- Performing other assigned duties and responsibilities
