Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, or equivalent combined experience and education. - 9 years of professional experience managing a variety of database systems. - Expertise in database management systems such as SQL Server and Oracle, along with proficiency in query languages like SQL. - In-depth knowledge of specific database systems (such as Oracle and SQL Server) including a strong grasp of database engineering, operations, performance optimization, backup/recovery, high availability/disaster recovery, and security compliance. - Experience in creating and managing AWS RDS instances with a focus on monitoring and optimizing them for cost and scalability. - Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and service offerings. - Proven ability to migrate on-premise SQL and Oracle databases to AWS RDS. - Must successfully complete the National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation. - Willingness and eagerness to learn new technologies as needed. - Understanding of cloud-based tools and platforms such as AWS and Azure. - Knowledge of Scrum teams, CI/CD automation, and IT service management practices. - Ability to prioritize competing tasks and adapt to changing circumstances. - Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.

Responsibilities

- Maintain Oracle Databases (19c) and SQL Server Databases (2019 & 2022) across production and non-production environments on both Windows and Linux platforms. - Provide upkeep for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, which includes SSIS, SSAS, and SQL Server 2019 on Windows Server. - Execute routine maintenance tasks, including backups and upgrades, while proactively identifying and resolving database issues across all environments. - Monitor database performance, analyze query throughput, and optimize systems to meet business-critical Application Service Level Agreements (SLAs). - Collaborate with developers, architects, QA personnel, and other teams to assist in application development and system integration. - Offer technical guidance and assistance for database-related inquiries and issues. - Review and enhance PLSQL and T-SQL scripts. - Support the implementation of essential database scripts in both production and non-production environments. - Refresh data in non-production databases by extracting from production databases and ensuring sensitive data is masked or scrambled. - Execute new strategies and employ tools to bolster database reliability and security. - Undertake strategic projects as assigned by the Database Director or Manager. - Follow company-specific software development processes, including the automation of key requirements in line with internal user and partner specifications, ensuring proper documentation. - Document changes related to Oracle Databases, SQL Server Databases, Data Warehouse, and Cloud databases, including deployment guides and design standards as required. - Engage with database vendors like Oracle, Microsoft, and AWS to escalate and resolve issues when necessary.
