Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited institution
- A minimum of seven years of experience in operating system support, database management systems, or a related area
- At least six years of hands-on administrative experience with SQL Server RDBMS
- Six years of direct experience managing backup, recovery, and high availability scenarios
- Six years of practical experience in database development and performance tuning in SQL Server
- Six years of experience in working with Microsoft Operating Systems and SQL Server clustered environments
- Proficient in T-SQL programming and optimization for six years
- Six years of hands-on experience with SQL and scripting
- Four years of strong knowledge and experience with Always ON High Availability groups
- Four years of migration experience
- Three years of experience in SQL Server database storage design and capacity planning according to best practices
- Four years of effective verbal and written communication skills with all staffing levels and management
- Three years of ability to generate entity relationship diagrams, create database documentation, and build data dictionaries
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, design, and secure databases for storing, tracking, and maintaining critical business information
- Act as the principal subject matter expert, offering authoritative guidance to professional staff
- Potentially lead database projects and initiatives
- Oversee all aspects of physical database administration, including schema management, security, installations, upgrades, patches, backup and recovery, space management, performance tuning, and capacity planning for SQL Server
- Collaborate with application teams to enhance, troubleshoot, and optimize performance
- Support SQL Server databases across Production, Test, and Development environments as well as within Microsoft SharePoint
- Install, upgrade, configure ALWAYS ON, and deploy complex database software
- Formulate and execute database recovery strategies and procedures
- Evaluate database performance and suggest tuning and application modifications
- Manage user authentication and verify security protocols across systems
- Review existing system designs and develop new database systems as required
- Modify database structures or deploy schema changes in response to new requirements
- Write scripts for batch data loads and automate operational jobs
- Maintain working knowledge of Cohesity Backup Appliance and Cloud Technology governance
