Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field - 5-7 years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development including stored procedures, functions, packages, and advanced queries - 5-7 years of experience in developing applications with Oracle APEX - Strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS, preferably Oracle 19c - Proficient in SQL Developer and/or TOAD - Familiarity with data modeling principles - Experience in integrating web services - Skilled in performance tuning, debugging, and testing SQL queries and stored procedures in Oracle and SQL Server - Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities - Strong written and verbal communication abilities - Previous experience with environmental systems preferred, but not required - Experience in modernizing legacy Oracle Forms applications - Knowledge of XML, HTML, Web Services, Java, PL/SQL APIs, SOA architecture, and Agile/Scrum methodologies - Strong grasp of Oracle 19c database features - Experience supporting regulatory or mission-critical systems - Ability to produce clear and comprehensive technical and functional documentation

Responsibilities

- Analyze and comprehend the architecture, data structures, and integrations of current Oracle Forms applications - Support the transition and conversion of Oracle Forms-based applications to Oracle APEX - Collaborate with technical leads to design and develop modern APEX user interfaces - Aid in setting UI/UX design standards for forthcoming APEX applications - Create and sustain PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, and complex queries - Execute data extraction, analysis, and scripting for reporting and system improvements - Review existing documentation to understand system requirements, structure, reporting, and functionality - Implement and manage application security, roles, and authorization models in integrated Oracle systems - Perform performance profiling and tuning for enhanced maintainability and responsiveness - Generate technical, business functional, and system documentation - Engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle including gathering requirements, analysis, coding, testing, deployment, and post-production support - Mentor IT staff and other developers through knowledge transfer - Assist in production deployments and manage release activities - Provide weekly status reports to management - Create reports for executive management, end-users, and staff

We are looking for a skilled Oracle Developer to join our team remotely for an exciting project located in Harrisburg, PA. The successful candidate will be essential in modernizing the migration of legacy Oracle Forms applications to secure and maintainable Oracle APEX applications supported by Oracle Database 19c. This project plays a critical role in enhancing environmental and regulatory systems, ensuring sustainability and improved performance. We value collaboration and growth, and our commitment extends to mentoring and knowledge transfer within our team. This is a contract position for 4 months and 7 days with a competitive hourly rate of $59.59.
