Requirements
Must:
- Associates degree or equivalent from a technical college or two-year program; or 6 to 12 months of related experience, or a combination of education and experience preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in land surveying with progressively responsible positions
- Proficient in surveying instruments (Total Stations, GPS, Levels) and software (AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center)
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, methods, and procedures
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills
- Strong organizational capabilities and problem-solving expertise
- Effective communication and client relationship management skills
- Valid drivers license with willingness to travel to job sites
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Basics of data collection, CAD skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Above average mathematical skills and ability to operate tablets and computers
- Experience or knowledge for Professional Surveying Exam preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead the survey crew in executing various field surveys, including control, boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
- Ensure accurate data collection utilizing surveying instruments like total stations, GPS, levels, and LiDAR scanners
- Supervise the setting up of survey control points, benchmarks, and reference markers
- Maintain and manage vehicles and surveying equipment to ensure optimal functionality and calibration
- Oversee the inventory of field supplies and equipment for survey projects
- Collect, analyze, and verify the accuracy and quality of survey data to produce detailed maps, plans, and reports
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in data
- Conduct mathematical calculations related to surveying and assess field data for accuracy
- Perform project research and ensure the delivery of successful projects with proper safety techniques
- Prepare and review job sheets and manage logistical needs for crew members
- Analyze records, deeds, and plats for property and boundary control
- Provide information to the public concerning surveying activities
- Ensure quality standards for services and materials received by clients
- Complete necessary paperwork related to job completion
- Enforce safety protocols during operations to protect the crew and public
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and surveying standards
- Mentor and guide survey crew members, assigning tasks and managing work schedules
- Monitor daily production and performance metrics
- Communicate effectively with clients and project managers regarding requirements and changes
- Ensure timely uploads of all pertinent project data and information
- Maintain safety awareness among workers and clients
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company
