Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related field (or 7+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree). - Minimum of 3 years of experience in offensive security or emulation operations within extensive and complex settings, demonstrating a measurable impact on detection and response efforts. - Proficiency in at least two domains: enterprise/web/mobile applications, identity management, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), networking/endpoint security, IoT/OT, or directory services. - Track record of successfully bypassing prevention and detection controls to achieve mission goals while ensuring safety and adherence to rules of engagement (ROE). - Strong programming capabilities in Python, PowerShell, GO, C++, and familiarity with web frameworks; comfort with low-level concepts is advantageous. - Comprehensive understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and threat-informed defense strategies; experience collaborating with DFIR/SOC and Detection Engineering teams. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, suitable for both executive and technical contexts.

Responsibilities

- Oversee comprehensive red team operations that align with priority threat actors, including scenario design, rules of engagement, pre-briefs, execution, and after-action reviews. - Assist purple team collaborations with DFIR/SOC and Detection Engineering to translate TTPs into sustainable detections, operational guides, and enhancements with quantifiable results. - Lead simulated-breach campaigns that focus on evasion tactics and circumvention of controls (EDR/AV, email/web security, identity/conditional access, network segmentation, cloud governance). - Conduct research on campaigns/TTPs, develop internal proofs of concept/tools (e.g., tactics to evaluate specific controls, lightweight payloads), and oversee operational security (OPSEC). - Create executive-ready risk narratives and technical documentation (including ATT&CK mapping and evidence management) to present to senior management. - Mentor junior engineers while establishing standards for quality, execution methodologies, and safety protocols. - Coordinate multiple-party exercises with third parties; manage risk, ensure production alignment, and achieve stakeholder consensus. - Contribute to operational growth by investigating, prototyping, and developing innovative capabilities for offensive applications. - Participate in enhancing program maturity through metrics/KPIs development, roadmap creation, methodology standardization, validation cadence for controls, and integration with vulnerability management.
