Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in systems/infrastructure engineering roles
- Extensive hands-on experience with HPE ProLiant hardware
- In-depth knowledge of SAN and HCI storage platforms (MSA, Nimble, Alletra, vSAN)
- Advanced proficiency with VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware vSphere environments
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise backup solutions, preferably Veeam
- Experience in designing and managing DR/replication solutions, preferably using Zerto
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across compute, storage, and virtualization
- Comprehensive understanding of Windows Server and enterprise networking principles
- Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Ansible, etc.) [preferred]
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud settings (Azure) [preferred]
- Background in Infrastructure-as-Code or platform standardization [preferred]
- Relevant certifications (VMware, Microsoft, HPE, Veeam) [preferred]
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure with a focus on Hewlett Packard Enterprise hardware
- Manage and enhance SAN and HCI storage platforms including HPE MSA, Nimble, Alletra, and VMware vSAN
- Architect, maintain, and resolve issues within VMware-based platforms, including VMware Cloud Foundation
- Implement and oversee backup and recovery strategies leveraging Veeam
- Design and support replication and disaster recovery solutions utilizing Zerto
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management initiatives
- Monitor performance, capacity, and availability across compute, storage, and virtualization tiers
- Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks
- Collaborate with networking, security, and application teams to ensure reliable platforms
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Mentor junior engineers and help instill best practices in infrastructure management
Description
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to take ownership of and evolve our core infrastructure platforms within a rapidly expanding organization comprising 80 locations and nearly 8,000 employees. This position is both hands-on and strategic, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy constructing dependable systems, tackling intricate infrastructure challenges, and mentoring peers. You will be instrumental in scaling and standardizing our server, storage, virtualization, backup, and DR environments as we continue our growth. This role may require occasional travel to facilitate site deployments, infrastructure enhancements, and significant projects across various locations.
