Requirements
Must:
- Over 7 years of experience supporting and maintaining applications on IBM i / AS400
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing business processes, including Production, Inventory, and Supply Chain
- Strong expertise in SQL and database management specifically on IBM i
- Comprehensive understanding of AS400 architecture, security protocols, and system operations
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both shop-floor operators and IT leadership in a cross-functional context
- Hands-on experience with EDI processes and automated labeling systems (preferred)
- Proficiency in RPG (RPGLE, SQLRPGLE) and CL (significant asset)
- Familiarity with ERPs such as Data3, PRMS, or PRISM is highly preferred
- Skill in troubleshooting and optimizing in a multi-site, high-availability environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-level support for IBM i applications across multiple locations, ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing and ERP processes
- Oversee and address integrations between AS400 and external platforms, including EDI, labeling systems, and Windows-based applications
- Work alongside stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into detailed functional and technical specifications
- Conduct root cause analysis for complex incidents and implement sustainable resolutions to prevent future occurrences
- Engage in system upgrades, patch management, and application performance enhancements
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes and solutions, while providing training for users on system upgrades and new features
