Requirements

Must:
- 3–5 years of practical experience in Windows Server administration within an enterprise setting. - Strong foundational knowledge of Windows Server including roles, features, event log examination, performance assessment, storage management, and OS-level troubleshooting. - Solid understanding of Active Directory: users, groups, organizational units, Group Policy Objects, DNS integration, and domain principles; experience across multiple domains is advantageous. - Proven track record in remediating NTFS and share permissions in complex environments. - Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS: virtual machine lifecycle management, RBAC/IAM, DNS records, Azure Backup, resource groups, and the Azure Portal. - Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD): managing host pools, session hosts, image patching, FSLogix profile management including resets, and troubleshooting user issues; familiarity with Nerdio Manager is a plus. - Experience with PrinterLogic in a virtual desktop setting is beneficial. - Familiarity with Azure Policy, Automation Accounts for scheduling VMs, Azure File Sync, and financial operations tools such as Flexera. - Basic knowledge of VMware vSphere/vCenter and/or Hyper-V from the guest OS perspective. - Experience with Veeam and/or Zerto for backup monitoring and restoration processes. - Proficient in PowerShell for administrative tasks, reporting, and basic automation. - Familiarity with LogicMonitor or similar monitoring tools. - Basic command line interface skills in Linux or a strong desire to learn. - Self-driven, meticulous, and capable of independently managing multiple tasks. - Bachelors degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of experience and certifications. - Preferred certifications include AZ-104 and/or AZ-800/801; CompTIA Server+ accepted as a baseline. Equivalent hands-on experience will be taken into consideration.

Responsibilities

- Deploy, configure, and administer Windows Server instances in on-premises virtual and Azure-hosted environments, managing the entire server lifecycle from provisioning to decommissioning. - Install and oversee key Windows Server roles and features such as File Services, Print Services, and IIS; monitor server health through event log review and alert systems. - Audit and rectify NTFS and share permissions within a complex, multi-site file server environment; implement role-based access control and adhere to principles of least privilege. - Create, adjust, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects; manage service accounts, scheduled operations, and local security settings. - Oversee Azure role-based access control and identity group assignments, Azure DNS administration, SMTP relay whitelisting, and compliance monitoring of Azure Policies. - Monitor and manage end-of-life Azure resources; handle VM resizing, disk expansions, and scheduling for automation accounts through change management processes. - Track and support Azure File Sync, expanding storage as required. - Conduct Azure Backup operations: set up policies, monitor job performance, and execute advanced file and server restorations. - Support financial operations using tools like Flexera and Azure cost management; generate reports for rightsizing, clean up resource tags, and identify optimization possibilities. - Conduct maintenance tasks for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD): manage host pools and session hosts, apply patches for golden images, administer FSLogix profiles, and troubleshoot performance issues. - Manage PrinterLogic within the AVD setting; oversee printer assignments and resolve printing connectivity issues for virtual desktop users. - Utilize Nerdio Manager for AVD host pool automation and to manage image lifecycles when necessary. - Oversee LogicMonitor alert queues; investigate, resolve, or escalate alerts, and participate in alert tuning processes. - Administer server applications including Lansweeper, AD Audit, and GoAnywhere; manage software updates within the framework of change control. - Support Veeam or Zerto backup operations: monitor job activity, conduct restorations, and maintain documentation for backup coverage. - Write basic PowerShell scripts for server management, Active Directory queries, and reporting functionalities. - Resolve Tier 2/3 server incidents and service requests through ServiceDesk Plus with clear communication and comprehensive documentation. - Maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, Azure tagging, and Active Directory server descriptions; participate in change advisory board meetings with well-organized change proposals.
