Requirements

Must:
- Proven experience in developing with Natural programming languages and managing ADABAS database systems. - Strong comprehension of service-oriented architecture (SOA), solution architecture, and principles of system design. - Proficiency in Cobol with ADASQL, ADABAS/Natural for Mainframe z/OS, ADABAS/Natural Report & Structure Modes, ADABAS Predict, CICS, TSO/ISPF, and JCL. - Experience using ADABAS utilities such as Delta Save Facility, Natural utilities, SMA, and Program Migration tools. - Familiarity with contemporary software development methodologies, including Agile practices, DevOps tools (like Jenkins), RESTful APIs, microservices, and Kubernetes for container orchestration. - Advanced capability to write, modify, and troubleshoot JCL. - Strong skills in managing batch jobs, datasets, and various utilities. - Understanding of job scheduling concepts. - Ability to create and sustain CICS online transactions. - Competence in executing unit, integration, regression testing, and conducting code reviews. - Expertise in problem-solving in legacy systems. - Excellent analytical skills for issue research and root cause analysis. - Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

- Develop, test, and enhance mainframe applications utilizing Natural and ADABAS to ensure peak performance and dependability. - Collaborate effectively with solution architects to create scalable system architectures that meet business requirements. - Engage in system design discussions to improve current mainframe environments and assimilate new features. - Diagnose and rectify complex code challenges, ensuring minimal service interruption and high-quality outputs. - Assist in system fortification, security measures, vulnerability assessments, and ongoing hardening initiatives to protect sensitive information. - Partner with cross-functional teams on Agile projects, employing DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and version control systems like Git.
