Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or advanced degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in drive systems
- At least 5 years of proven experience with medium- to large-scale Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) in industrial settings
- In-depth understanding of equipment, processes, and systems relevant to electrical engineering of steel mill machinery
- Strong grasp of advanced engineering principles, calculation techniques, and equipment design and selection
- Excellent teamwork abilities to effectively collaborate in large, diverse, multinational teams
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 30%
- Familiarity with drive systems such as Siemens SINAMICS S120, ABB ACS880, or Rockwell PowerFlex
- Proficient knowledge of motor models and the capability to accurately specify and select motor applications
Responsibilities
- Develop and design complex systems integrating both hardware and software
- Create detailed material specifications and schematics, offering essential follow-up support
- Propose enhancements aimed at improving productivity, reducing costs, and elevating customer satisfaction
- Facilitate intricate technical exchanges and knowledge transfer regarding processes and product applications in system design
- Specify and design hardware for Variable Frequency Drive systems
- Parameterize and optimize programs for Variable Frequency Drives specific to industrial metal technology applications
- Identify and address complex technical challenges as they emerge, taking decisive actions to solve intricate problems
- Seek assistance and insights from colleagues on non-routine or unfamiliar challenges when necessary
- Collaborate closely with the immediate manager, engineering teams, project managers, and customers throughout project execution
