Requirements
Must:
- Basic understanding of electronics theory
- Experience utilizing a multimeter for diagnosing electrical issues is advantageous
- Skill in applied programming, with projects showcasing interaction with real-world applications being preferable
- Other relevant experiences such as automotive maintenance, electronics repair, or personal projects that highlight problem-solving capabilities in relation to machines or electrical systems
- Adaptability to quickly learn new programming languages, interfaces, and development environments
- Ability to identify key problems and work towards their resolution
- Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, focusing on finding solutions rather than achieving perfection
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with team members and external clients
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby
- Basic understanding of algorithms and algorithm complexity
- Understanding of computer architecture fundamentals
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows command line
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and data normalization
- Familiarity with Boolean logic
- Willingness to produce well-structured, documented, and organized code

Responsibilities
- Develop innovative solutions for various machine control applications
- Utilize a versatile set of components to deliver tailored solutions for diverse projects
- Manage projects from initial customer interaction to PLC, HMI, motion, and network programming, concluding with validation and startup at customer sites
- Complete most projects within six weeks, often involving day trips for startup phases
- Exhibit initiative, a strong commitment to quality, and pride in craftsmanship
- Collaborate with the principal engineer, fellow engineers, drafters, project managers, and production staff on engaging and complex projects
- Write clean and efficient code starting with an initial framework
- Embrace a continuous learning mindset and adapt to new roles and tasks as necessary
