We are looking for a Senior Unified Communications (UC) Engineer who possesses the following qualifications:
- Education Minimum: An Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (we may consider a combination of 2 years of relevant experience and education in lieu of a degree).
- Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Work Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in designing, configuring, and supporting Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure.
- A minimum of 5 years of troubleshooting experience to isolate and diagnose problems in large-scale voice implementations.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in translating business needs into operational requirements.
- A minimum of 5 years managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience mentoring and teaching others on Unified Communications technologies.
- Preferred:
- 3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
- 3 years of relevant experience in IT, Business Operations, Project Management, Analytics, or Monitoring.
- 3 years of experience supporting Cisco or similar UCaaS solutions.
- 3 years of experience supporting Cisco CCE, including creating and modifying scripts.
- 3 years of experience supporting Calabrio suite of products.
- 3 years of experience supporting Genesys CX cloud or similar CCaaS solutions.
- Licenses & Certifications: Preferred certifications include CCNP Collaboration Certification and CCNA Certification.
Responsibilities
As a Senior UC Engineer, my responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring successful delivery to support strategic planning and initiatives, improving organizational performance, and advancing progress toward our RUSH goals.
- Collaborating with vendors, clients, carriers, and technical staff to implement, optimize, and secure our Cisco Unified Communications system. This includes troubleshooting infrastructure and services such as CUCM, CUC, CCE, CUBE, Jabber, WebEx, Finesse, voice gateways, and all other Unified Communications applications.
- Carrying out maintenance and upgrades on all UC/UCCE infrastructure and endpoints.
- Utilizing proficiency in local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) operations to ensure optimal configuration and operation of integrated systems.
- Having strong knowledge of voice/VoIP protocols including SIP, ISDN PRI, TI, FXS, FXO, and Fax.
- Performing security reviews of UC Infrastructure and Applications.
- Researching, analyzing, recommending, and implementing new software, hardware, tools, systems, and processes to provide a state-of-the-art collaboration experience.
- Leading the development and delivery of training relevant to the area of expertise.
Description
The Senior UC Engineer will collaborate on all aspects of maintaining, configuring, and sustaining our Cisco VoIP environment. This includes design, implementation, maintenance of the existing UC environment, as well as upgrading/configuration and installation of hardware/software. I will help evaluate, design, configure, document, and implement communication system architecture, including phone networks & services, circuits, VoIP, cloud services, and connectivity to support our business needs. As a Senior UC Engineer, I will also assist with the development of roadmaps and lead implementation projects. Participation in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation is required, including periodic off business-hours work. I will hold team and organization-level responsibilities and lead large-scale projects.
