Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL Server versions 2008, 2012, or 2014 (preferably in a production support capacity)
- Familiarity with Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, DB2, and MongoDB
- At least 3 years of experience in writing PowerShell scripts or utilizing third-party tools, cmdlets, and functions for automation tasks
- Knowledge of SQL Server Always-On Availability groups
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both business and technical domains
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage changing priorities and tight schedules, including addressing critical system issues outside normal hours
- Proven capacity to stay current with evolving skills in a dynamic information systems environment
- Understanding of PCI, SOX, SSAE16, and HIPAA/HITECH requirements
- Familiarity with corporate job schedulers like IBM TWS is a plus
- Experience with third-party backup and monitoring tools (e.g., Foglight) preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive infrastructure support for various database types (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Sybase, DB2, Mongo)
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications to ensure effective 24/7 support
- Streamline installations and troubleshoot issues related to Guardium installations
- Develop and implement PowerShell scripts and automation solutions aligned with enterprise strategies
- Plan and design new database implementations, including their definitions, structure, and documentation
- Apply database management consulting skills to gather and clarify user requirements
- Offer on-call support during critical incidents and provide timely problem resolution
- Design, implement, and monitor database systems to maintain stable operational environments
- Ensure compliance with enterprise policies and recommend enhancements where necessary
- Monitor overall standards and procedures while integrating various systems and consulting with users to identify requirements
